Built by monks in the 1490’s, Bromley Hall has been used as a house for Henry VIII servants, as a Civil War gunpowder factory and, in the 18th and early 19th centuries, as a gracious out-of-town residence for a succession of wealthy City merchants. However, the historical Bromley-By-Bow site has since been used as a garage and a carpet showroom and was in desperate need of restorative work.
As part of a facelift for Poplar’s riverside, the building has been sensitively restored by Leaside Regeneration in close partnership with English Heritage. Having been awarded the contract, the Kinetic Electrical team wer
e responsible for the delicate task of designing and fitting the new lighting and electrics in the new Bromley Hall, which has just recently been completed.
Having once been the banqueting lodge for Tudor nobles, the restored building is to be used as a museum and a space for local schools and will be open to the public during this year's Open House Weekend from 16 to 17 September.
