A practical approach to health and safety on construction sites has helped Kinetic Electrical reach the final five in the National Health and Safety Awards 2006. Kinetic have been short listed in the Working Well Together Small Firm Category and awaits the announcement of a winner at a glittering awards ceremony at the London Hilton Hotel in Park Lane on Thursday 22 June 2006.
Managing Director of Kinetic Electrical, Nathan Ware is pleased the company’s commitment to health and safety standards on site has been recognised, after a study of working practices last year identified opportunities for improving health and safety beyond the requirements covered by the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and associated guidelines.
Integral to the health and safety drive at Kinetic has been the development of an A5
booklet to be used on sight which highlights safe electrical working guidelines and useful emergency procedures in an easily understood format – the booklet is backed up by training sessions and regular refresher sessions during site meetings and staff meetings. As a result, Kinetic have a set of procedures which are practical and work on site rather than overpowering rules which are too complex for practical application.
Mr Ware is proud of the recognition Kinetic have received and said, “we hope that we will enjoy success when the overall winner is announced on Thursday 22 June.”
