David Cameron put the Tories' new-found concern for the environment into practice by moving into the new "green" party headquarters. The new suite of offices at 30 Millbank, five minutes from the Commons, makes the maximum use of reclaimed and recycled materials. Also at the heart of the green strategy for the new offices was energy saving lighting with an integrated control system that switches areas of lighting off when no-one is around. Kinetic Electrical, along with main contractor’s John O’Neil and Partners, were responsible for delivering the office refurbishment and fit-out project at the Conservative’s new offices in Westminster. Kinetic’s work included: new lighting, fire alarms, power, systems installations, air-conditioning modifications and plumbing services. Kinetic were also instrumental in assisting the organization in their move from their previous offices, allowing them to re-use most of their existing furniture and computers.
David Cameron personally visited the newly completed offices and spent time thanking the work team involved. Nic Austin, Facilities manager for the Conservative Party said “we really wanted to thank Kinetic especially on this project. Their guys were outstanding and the extra effort at the end was critical in helping us move smoothly into the new buildings on time….” “Even after the first week in the new location, when we would normally expect a few problems with new building services, everything worked fine…”
