Kinetic Plays Key Role in Luxury Residential Conversion of Historic Buildings
Kinetic were responsible for all the M & E services in the recent conversion of a private school to luxury apartments in the exclusive Sloane Square area of Chelsea. 28 Sloane Gardens is one of a famous set of terracotta fronted Victorian townhouses on a tree lined street in London’s prestigious West End.
The buildings in the street were designed by architect William Willets and now have listed status with the Royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The project created 5 unique and differently sized apartments and was completed by main contractor John O’Neill and partners. Kinetic were responsible for the design and installation of all services in the new apartments which marked a careful combination of quality materials specification verses cost with sensitivity to the historic features of the building.
The project was completed on time despite some difficult structural repairs required.
When completed, the architect in the project, Philip Vernon of Philip Vernon Associates said, “We have been very grateful for Kinetic’s proactive design approach. The resulting apartment spaces are very pleasing and all the present occupiers are delighted.”
