Kinetic help University of London complete SOAS project on time

With the help of Kinetic Electrical, the Universtiy of London has recently completed its full storey extension of the School of African and Oriental Studies' Vernon Square Campus - on time and on budget.

Having provided a comprehensive range of M&E services for the project, Kinetic, in association with John O’Neil and Partners and TP Bennett Architects, managed to complete the job carefully, minimizing disruption to the busy university campus.

The project, commissioned by the University of London, set out to expand the existing accommodation and teaching facilities available to students and teachers at SOAS’s Vernon Square campus near King’s Cross in central London. Kinetic’s responsibilities within the project incorporated a range of mechanical and electrical services including: lighting, power, voice and data, high quality multi-compartment dado trunking system, electrical heating, automatic fire systems, ventilation and pipe water services – while everyday university activities continued.

The project was completed and full Operation and Maintenance manuals were handed over on time – a first for a University of London project. Staff and students were particularly happy with their new accommodation and teaching spaces, commenting that the quality and feel of the new rooms, coupled with the attention to finishing detail of the installation were superb.
